This clinic is designed for people who have little to no running experience but have the desire to get healthier, stronger and gain some knowledge of running.  This clinic is also great for those who have some running experience but have taken a significant amount of time off and are looking to get back on track.

Learn from a professional coach! Even though you are just getting started, it is important to have the right direction under a professional who can help you figure out how to meet your fitness objectives and provide you with expertise, knowledge, and guidance. There are thousands of training plans you can download online, but working with a qualified professional to help you achieve your fitness goals and avoid certain dangers is extremely beneficial especially for new runners.

It is our mission to help you achieve personal fitness goals and help you become a healthier you. We offer a safe and inclusive running environment. Our run club is extremely diverse in ages, abilities, shapes, and sizes. There is a place for everyone!

Start Date: Tuesday, July 4, 2023
End Date: Saturday, September 23, 2023

Session Times:

Tuesdays @ 6:45 pm for phase 1, @6:30pm for phase 2
Thursdays @ 6:45 pm for phase 1, @6:30pm for phase 2
Saturdays @ 8:00 am

All runs will start and finish at Runners’ Edge with the exceptions of Tuesdays. All members will be notified by email of the run locations. 

$105 + HST (this includes a 12 week membership + 2023 Athletics Ontario registration)

What to Expect:
This 12-week program is broken into 2 phases:

Phase 1: The first 2 weeks will be step-by-step guidance with Coach Benny Ralston to go over the basics with you: learn the dynamic warm-up series of stretches, work on your running form and technique, running uphill, running downhill, learn the importance of proper footwear and gear. This first phase is to teach you all the fundamentals of running and give you the tools to stay safe and injury free. 

Phase 2: The next 10 weeks you will be integrated in with members of our run club and finish off the clinic going at your own speed, pace, and comfort level. This program is progressive in nature and safely builds on itself to ensure the perfect balance of stress and recovery.

This clinic has helped many runners achieve their first 5K and beyond. It's also a great way to make new friends and become part of our wonderful running community!
